It’s OK, to not be OK.
At Mental Wealth, you are not alone.
Like many mental health clinics in the DMV, Mental Wealth does not participate in or directly accept any health insurance plans. However, please be aware that because Dr. Azad is on faculty at Georgetown, she is listed on many insurance panels but this does not apply to services rendered by Mental Wealth. At our practice, we strive to provide high quality care to our patients without succumbing to limits imposed by insurances on length and quantity of sessions.
Our fees are based on the particular service and length of the appointment. Please call our office to discuss specific details and we can provide a good faith estimate. Payment is due at the time of booking an initial appointment. A credit card will be kept on file for follow-up appointments and charged within 48 business hours of the scheduled start time. If an appointment is not canceled with a minimum of 48 business hours notice, the full fee for the originally scheduled appointment will be charged.
Although patients are expected to pay our clinic directly, we are able to provide a superbill for patients to seek reimbursement from their respective insurance plans. A superbill contains the pertinent information (ie billing codes and diagnoses) that insurances request to process services and makes it easier for patients to submit out of network claims. We do not directly communicate or negotiate with insurance providers, but all patients with commercial insurance plans are strongly encouraged to submit a superbill for reimbursement to their health insurance and utilize their out of network benefits. On average, patients can typically expect to be reimbursed for about 60-80% of their appointment fee. However, as insurance coverage can vary greatly, it is always best to inquire directly with your insurance company on the reimbursement process and rates. To assist you in having this conversation, here are some questions to bring up:
Do I have mental health coverage?
What percentage of my session fee will I be reimbursed for an out-of-network provider?
Do I have a deductible for out-of-network mental health benefits? If so, what is it?
How many sessions should I expect to be covered in a given year?
Psychiatric treatment can also be considered eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement, which many employers sponsor.
